Putting things into perspective, spud CBM 107-002 encountered its first coal (c. 3.5 m) at 238m, we are now bang on 200 meters into our current spud, in fact by day ending we should exceed this depth and have a reasonable understanding of the general mapping of coal seams.
Should coal seams be discovered at depth(s) similar with CBM93-002, our opportunities for monetisation through coal seam gas shall greatly enhance CTPs prospects of prosperity.
JH and team at the moment must be running around like a blue ----- fly, and we have yet to start Johnstone-1 due in just over 2 weeks.
Well done to our drilling crew, not an easy job and I take my hat off to those who are about to help map CTPs total coal mass. As reiterated by CTP in announcement on the 24 May 2010
Interest in the area seems to be heating up with Rio Tinto taking up mineral exploration lease applications in the area close to Centrals granted mineral exploration permits.
Based on the announcements last sentence, I take this as being extraction of coal through mining is less likely than commercialisation through processes such as LNG and or GTL for example.
