Others may know how it is sourced by the site provider.
I presume it is derived from trading sites on a daily basis.
The question then arises whether in house swaps, at brokers and institutions, are included
I would hope that these are reported and included in a timely manner.
However, I can not personally vouch for the integrity of the data.
Your quest for a definition of turnover is interesting.
If I find any anwers I will advise further.
Certainly at the Westpac trading site, (and I imagine at others)
there are frequently reported cross trades and algorithmic transactions.
It would be surprising if these were not contained in reported turnover data?
I believe the turnover in the source data is numbers of shares traded, not their value.
As always I could be wrong, so please DYOR, and I will do mine as time allows.
Any advice from others?
