Optus has its own little network interconnected through telstra's network. so without telstra, optus will not exist.

So regardless it be a wireless or a cable tv they use telsta's network to form a national network, all they do is rent for example a 2mig link or whatever services they need to interconnect.

So in the real world Optus is the biggest customer Telstra has they get billed like you and me as a customer.

I know optus has exchanges all around Australia, one in Moorooka in Brisbane with a code of 04MO and the one in Mascot and I don't know where else.
