Forgive me for asking, but WHY will we be surprised?

Unless you know what is going to happen, and who is willing to pay what, how can you be sure we will be surprised by who the victor will be?

Only two things would really surprise me:

- Woodside getting involved
- Mangels leading a consortia to buy ESG.

Apart from that, nothing would surprise me.

The field is so wide - domestic energy companies, multi-nationals involved in CSG in QLD already, Asian buyers, and then large energy companies not currently involved in CSG...

I am looking forward to being pleasantly surprised by both the number of parties involved, and their generosity. :)
