blooreeler Yes i am well aware about mining and farming and also the use of minerals such as phosphate etc etc And the rising cost of employment in rural areas cost of living rates etc etc Water competion etc etc mining has a big footprint outside of finacial circles and this needs not be forgotten in this debate about the tax.You also are well aware that there is a big agnst against mining in our community as well. Its good education going on here and when the boom stops which does not look likely even in the downturn close to record production was achieved in some mining operations and for the community as a whole we need be prepared for when it does turn that we have been well prepared and used the boom times well.Getting that figure of who puts in what is very hard i take for example the qld goverments contribution over the years to mining same as all states and you start to get a bigger federal picture of the goverments costs . Try maintain an open mind before narrowing down the effects to one or two people in goverment and understand this review has been initated for awhile now .Being democratic should bring the best result for all.Size of a goverment computer twenty years ago is vastly different now.Over twenty years to get the gst since first mooted. Two years to get this one.Debate time looks about two years and i have know idea how long it took the gst to be developed into an idea. Then put forward to the politicians. How long it will remain hot debate on hot copper im guessing two months i like the two's .The mods will be having a nitemares now saying that.
