We'd have to agree, NL, that the concept of separating the two distinct downstream processes of mechanical shaping and purification makes a lot of sense. Not only does the micronising of the graphite present savings to transport costs due to reduced volume (if freight costs are charged or partly charged by volume and not weight alone). Less transportation involved reduces carbon emissions, which is another tick. Last but not least, is the substantial CAPEX costs. Building one micronising / spheronising facility only instead of several in our designated overseas locations really is a smart concept.

As for Kwinana... it does seem to be logical to build a products testing and demonstration plant here. I believe it could then act as a downstream BAM supplier of graphite from miners here in Aust and abroad who don't have downstream operations of their own. I can't imagine that all miners will have the tech, money and know-how. Perhaps the plan is to incorporate a modularised demo plant where the mechanical shaping (front end) of the plant can be expanded over time to produce enough to supply a 25k tpa purification plant (to be constructed when that demand warrants it).

Anyway, detailed proposals would be better than us having to speculate and guess. And, now that Epanko is now alive in the form of Duma, I feel that my investment in EGR is no longer doomed. what.png
