Don't know Mal, not feeling a crash but been wrong before.
Noise won't bring down equities but it's old nemesis interest rates might.
Not the actual cash rate topping but the length of time it will hold at or near that level.
The yanks are currently at 4.8% ? let's say they top out at 5.3%.
There is a huge difference between 5.3 for a couple of months and 5ish for 18 / 24 mths, opens up other asset classes to capture a small but significant % of funds currently held in equites to exit to 'safe haven' at a respectable return.
Current mindset is after the current series on rises to 5 ish % we will automatically start cutting rates as the problem will be fixed and we will return to 'normal' interest rates of < 2%, maybe normal to Gen Z but not to real people.
OT We actually need the cash rate to hold and mature at 4 ish to send the message that money has a price and return sanity to asset pricing, the Gen Z crew will actually benefit from this as a degree of equality will return to asset pricing.
Anyway that's what the garage reckons, don't look at the 'top' of the cash rate cycle but how long it will remain there, that's the danger to equities.
Lads had a pretty good week with TLX doing some heavy lifting, actually free carried some today for daughters acct and main account, didn't tell her, she was in my ear about it from Canberra during the week, all excited and coming across like a deranged 5yo coming off a 7 day red cordial binge, CTS truly an insidious disease. Told her not having a conversation with 'greed' masquerading as a human and hung up. She hasn't called me back so must have her nose out of joint and now 'punishing' me by not speaking, well if that's a form of punishment, exoneration is truly overrated.
Mindf**k of the week goes to A4N, have mentioned it here on 2 or 3 occasions, if memory serves me corrrectly 1st time when it was 44 now > 100, problem being have never purchased a share, taken a bit of emotional paint off the garage that one.
CLG worth a spot on the WL. Eck went through the FA during the week, got the little bloke's attn.
