Rio would have been weighing its options, that’s normal when one is out shopping. And I won’t be surprised if rio actually made approaches to Ltr already and got rejected also, hence going for AKE as it realised the barrier is much higher to take Ltr. Ltr doesn’t have to disclose any rejected offer that remained unannounced by the suitor.
