    In his biotech career, Hopper has taken in about $750m from investors, paid himself in equity and remuneration about $100m and returned $400m to investors (disproportionately to the contributors). No drug that he’s ever been involved with has made its way to patients (apart from those in clinical trials).
    That’s not my opinion or “take”, just fact.

    I prefer my heroes to be more like Monash - ie actually do stuff that benefits the masses, be humble, not be greedy. But that’s just my take.

    @Eileendover - absolutely. His shares get lent out by Macquarie who get to charge fees and interest, as per any stock lending arrangement. Whether they are lent to people who use algorithms to short sell or straight out short sellers is a moot point. You’re not allowed to naked short sell on the ASX, so you have to borrow shares to do so. Hopper provides over 100m in this regard.
