Investment community will remain constrained in countries that at a whim change rules. Given choice why would you invest in a country that changes the rules retrospectivly and companies and shareholders barely wimper? Yes fossil fuels will play a huge role for decades but it is a choice of which of those companies create those dividends and trade in free markets . Australian governments actions basically have taken any massive premium for takeover off the table and Australia will lose control of the resources that are essential for its transittion to a greener ecconomy. It has become a trading opportunity more than an investment unfortunately.
