I'm no expert on kilns, but my understanding is that there are 2 types - direct fired and indirect fired kilns. Direct is with a flame that shoots into the middle of the kiln and indirect where the outside of the kiln is heated. For pyrolysis to occur you need an oxygen deficient environment which requires indirectly heated kiln.
The kiln they have looks like a directly heated kiln? Or have i got that wrong?
In any event pyrolysis needs something like 700 degrees celcius which is going to require a massive amount of fuel for a kiln that size.
