AZS (ASX) Banter and general comments

This is an extract of an article in AFR based on a presentation at a Macquarie Bank conference where Wesfarmers presented. - IMO it bodes well for AZS IF it discovers a major lithium resource (and we don't know if it will as it depends on assay results yet to be released and much more drilling). It's interesting that Wesfarmers look at a lot of opportunities in the critical minerals but to date only the Mt Holland Lithium has made the cut for Wesfarmers. SQM may be in the same boat - ie how many lithium explorers has SQM invested in (ie brought shares in) - I don't know the answer but AZS is the only one I know of in Australia - does anyone know of any others in Australia overseas as I am keen to know?

SQM chief executive Ricardo Ramos said the increased investment in Western Australia would come from $US3.4 billion earmarked for capital expenditure to increase lithium production.

The comments from Mr Scott and Mr Ramos underscore a renewed focus on lithium assets in Western Australia, andspeculation Albemarle will have to contend with a rival bidder in its $5.5 billion pursuit of Liontown Resources.
Speaking after SQM handed down quarterly results, Mr Ramos said building a 380,000 tonne concentrator and 50,000 tonne lithium hydroxide plant was “just the first step” in Western Australia.
“We strongly believe that we will reach an agreement [with Wesfarmers] – and we will review all the data from the engineering and the geological studies that we’re performing today – that will allow us to go forward to 100,000 tonnes or something close to,” he said
