As a VIP member of Star I thought I'd share some news.
As of the 1st of July, 2023, you can no longer gamble in the Sovereign Room without using your membership card in the machine or at the tables. This condition also applies to a guest you may invite.
Star Sydney have adapted to the new rules around serving complimentary alcohol by introducing zero alcohol wine and beer. I wish they could still serve complimentary drinks but I accept the change.
Staff members regularly check in with you while you are gambling, complying with their commitment to Star Care.
Does this deter me from going to Star Sydney? No, it doesn't. I'm an interstate guest and staying at the Casino is an occasion for me. I don't gamble in my own state because there is no incentive where as Star offer me complimentary accommodation etc.
For me, I consider the new rules a step in the right direction.
