damn right we need a thorough tax review. the Henry review was lost as the Libs when they gained office, had their own ideas about tax reform..... reduce all taxes, but mostly reduce the taxes paid by those who can most afford taxes.

the quote above was used well in the 90s when Keating was pushing for compulsory superannuation. it was the basis for the need to reduce dependence of retirees on the Gov for retirement income.

imo there are too many discretionary trusts, deductible clauses and special ATO deals to enable the most wealthy and big businesses to avoid paying their fair share of tax.

without taxes we would have no Gov schools, no public health system, no regulation by police or other authorities, no support for anyone without a job, regardless of whether a person is incapable of working or is simply unmotivated.

plainly we need adequate taxation to provide civil supports. the question is who should be paying more tax and who should be paying less?

Taxation needs to be paid by all not just some. Those that earn and pay the most tax shouldn't be constantly punished
