News, Telstra is by far the dearest, but has the best remote area coverage.

I'm trying to leave Telstra, and they are demanding a ridiculous $100 to unlock my modem. I think I've done it for free by re-flashing it.

For $99, Dodo has a wirless modem and includes 250 mg per month for 12 months.

Vodafone costs $79 for modem with 1 gig included and recharges of $19 for 500 mg for 1 month.

There are others, but I'm also exploring Virgin's data plan through mobile phone --- much cheaper than Telstra's.
