According to the Bible, it goes with the body into the ground and knows nothing.
We are body, soul and spirit.
On death the spirit goes to God, the one who gave it.
However, when Jesus comes the 2nd time, those in him (followers of his) will come alive and I assume come back together with their spirit.
We have a natural body and a spiritual body (Spiritual body is not a spirit).
So, You are 2 in one, the natural effectively needs to marry the spiritual, prepping ones self for the home run where it will be all spiritual.
Like Adam and Eve were to become one flesh = the 2 of you, but there will still be 2 of you.

Flesh and blood cannot enter heaven.
Jesus says -> that which is born of flesh (human) is flesh (Human words).................it is the human words, thinking so to speak = flesh, that is deemed as the flesh that cannot enter.
Jesus made a strong point in making it known that he was flesh and bone after the cross and not a spirit.
However, he shed his blood at the cross, so,...if I was a guessing man, I would say his blood is now replaced with the Spirit of the Fathers (God's) which is the Holy Spirit.
Currently our life is in the blood.
Now if you think about that, you have probably heard of some people that have had miraculous healings, and the Doctors have no answers for them ???
However, I would shed caution to the wind there, as I expect the opposition has powers to quite some degree as well.
I would need to know the peoples grass roots involved, before I could even attempt to make an assessment in that regards.
