Hi Roaminoz, Thanks for the tinypic reference. In the pic above the 1,2,3,4,5 etc are the data number for graphic [and hopefully later my worksheet reference names in the vlookup]. The date 29-Apr is 29-4 or 294 which corresponds to the worksheet containing that days data for all shortsell stock. For row WES the result is from vlookup for that date ie the equation is a duplicate of the Fx line (top left = J17). So at present i need to copy/paste the equation across for each date, but the sheet name stays the same ie 294, so i have to go into each equation and type in the new sheet name (304,45,55,65 etc ...yawn!!!). So i was hoping if i could use a cell reference in vlookup, as i copy/paste across the dates, the sheet cell reference would change too. (ie if i replaced H14 with 294, I14 with 304, then the H17 equation would load in H14, and I17 load I14 etc. But the Table_array in vlookup wont accept the 'worksheet' component as variable as it does the array itself. Seems strange that Excel can't do this.
Anyway if your unable to help thanks for trying...best not to clogg up the thread...thanks again
