It's hard to see Barrick committing the $100M when they themselves don't know if they'll have a project of Barrick scale from the Bambadji permit. Not sure if a big company will take that bet.

I thought there were legal-permitting issues in processing ore across the border into Mali as well?

If Barrick doesn't get to scale then maybe Fortuna is making the bet that they'll eventually be able to acquire the Barrick ground to consolidate the district and build a smaller scale project.
