This is a quasi-FID Announcement!I get the feeling that since returning from his recent trip at the Fastmarkets Asian Battery Materials conference, David Christensen and board have decided that they seen enough to know that it's time to come out on the front foot and start building. This commentary is rather interesting:
“Recent investments in litium-ion battery cell and anode manufacturing capacity have not been met by corresponding start-ups of upstream mininig operations, leading to the potential for near-term shortages in the supply of graphite concentrates. The early commencement of long lead-time procurement is part of Renascor’s strategy to accelerate our upstream development as we help to fill potential supply gaps and establish Renascor as a long-term supplier of high-quality, 100% Australian-made graphite for the lithium-ion battery sector.” Additionally, this week SA Premier, Peter Malinauskas is in Europe spruiking the biggest hydrogen power plant in the world that will be built up the road from us
(near Whyalla). This commercial green hydrogen production is also near to high-quality southern and central 'wind zones' on the Eyre Peninsula, so, although RNU don’t state it in the Announcement but they are likely to be using close to 100% green electricity by the time they’re producing concentrates.
Not only does this look promising but I'd suspect it's just the start of much news flow to come.
