The last paragraph of this post is rubbish. Malaysia invited Lynas to set up there, and Lynas's environmental standards are peerless. Consistent with the terms of the invitation/licence, commercial re-use of the byproduct was an allowable avenue, LYC invented a soil conditioner (Condisoil) which has lower radiation than fertiliser Malaysia imports and Malaysia disallowed it. Rejecting that solution was illogical, and on face value made for political reasons only...
