The debt ceiling circus has become an annual event to which I go, yawn. Maybe I should be more worried as complacency catches us all out.
Since 1960, legislators have acted 78 times — on average more than once a year — to raise or modify the US debt limit so the government can continue to pay its bills. It's a problem unique to the United States.
