Not enough to takeover Plough, but maybe enough to attract a bunch of the lesser informed holders, dazzled by the commotion. Were it to attract 20% or so of the loosest holders (aka unsuspecting prey), then it wouldnt be a bad thing for remaining 80%. It reduces the free float. Same demand, fewer available shares, price up.
John McKinstry is a capable, honest fellow and I like his comments such as The Pajingo field is a good one (droll understatement). Gold was first mined at Vera Nancy 14 years ago (1996) and has since yielded 2.3 million ounces. It has been a great producer from a major modern discovery. I have a long history with this mine and I think it's highly prospective ground. I dont recall the mine ever having more than a 7 year life and we currently have a six year life. I really do expect to just keep adding. Being a modern discovery, the area hasnt been worked over for decades so there is much to be found. Up until now we have been late in attacking exploration, as the focus has been on getting the mine operating at a nice steady state. Exploration is about to take its rightful prominence.
I think Klein & co have seen a bargain and are trying to bluster their way into a holding by parading past glories. Cant blame them for trying but have zero respect for the selective use of the truth.
