With resource increasing,a mine life of 50 years and production at 1million oz of platinum pa at possibly $2,000 per oz I think that $1.60 is much too low.

While local shareholders may accept $1b, Genorah Res and I with just under 63% of the stock will not budge.

Anyway I think that a takeover is now not on the cards. For that to have happened Xstrata would have gone via that route prior to platinum prices increasing.
