Yes, it surprises that some (perhaps many) of these individuals on salaries of $200,000+ (some on far more) plus bonuses and/or incentives can come to such differing conclusions as you, and even me.
You're on the land, so can 'research' the situation and talk to friends elsewhere with similar expertise. I can spend part of an hour looking at weather patterns, what's happening overseas with crop prospects. I read about geopoltics internationally, the economic situation here and overseas and occasionally research specialist websites. I won't understand the fine detail of fertiliser application, soil conditions or planting decisions but I'll develop a general 'sort of' understanding re parameters.
It doesn't mean we'll get everything correct, but how come quite a few of the 'professionals' can't seemingly be more accurate with their superior access to information, share price history and nuances and experienced contacts? Is there a herd mentality?
