I’ve been thinking this through. Engineers could be an absolute stroke of genius from Kin or whoever’s brainchild this is;

1) why launch another metaverse that tries to compete on similar metrics to the existing ones? All you will be trying to do is drag people from other metas to yours (the interested users are already using). You’ll get some but if people already like what they have they won’t change. Likewise, the interested demographic are already using MVs, so you will have
limited new MV adopters to a new project.
2) So instead invent a product that can jump across all MVs and interact with all. I have no idea what features they will carry but that idea appeals to existing MV users on all platforms, you’re not asking them to leave their current set up, you’re giving them something cool to add to their experience, exploring whilst maintaining their current MV ‘home’.
3) It therefore appeals to all existing MV users (assuming the Eng can jump into all MVs) who are obviously the right demographic and you’ve overcome the resistance to change in pt 2. Not just appealing to the mob that like Apes or Sandbox etc, appeals to all MV users.
4) Using the lady Eng is inspired for a number of psychological reasons (eg majority of users are male, but both men and women will like the power woman vibe the Engineer’s are giving off. Plus they have made them look a little sexy, but classy and adventurous, perfect for exploring and creating)
5) The bonus! Assuming Engineers goes well, iCandy has then established a name in the MV community (without actually building a MV first!). Maybe when MG or Starlife drops (depending on timing) MV users will be saying ‘that’s the mob that did Engineers’. Some reputation already exists and let’s hope it’s a very good rep by then!

So in terms of designing this project for a demographic of max size and adoption the Engineers has massive potential IMO. Execution of the project remains to be seen and also the utility of the Eng in each MV will be super important, but there is an air of brilliance already hanging over this project.
