You can SEE the 3 bolded areas above, now add Spirit of Truth to that and that is exactly as the Writer describes the very SAME thing in 4 different ways, now add the Father to that = they all represent the same thing.
If they are the same thing - the Father - in 4 different ways please ask your mates who wrote the Bible what is going on here.
1 John 2:1-2 (New International Version)
2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate withthe FatherJesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

God is clearly referred to as Word in John 1:1, so based on where you are going, why not ask you mate who wrote John, why they confused the matter and didn't just write Father instead of Word?

Yeah, good question for my mate John.
    He's a cagy old so-and-so.
I asked him, but he learnt some bad habits from some posters - asks questions, but does not answer them.
He also likes to lead people around the mulberry bush like John 1:1-14 - A habit that he taught some posters.
He introduced this dude called Word in the first verse and makes you read to verse 14 to get the identity of Word only for wotsup to tell you that you have got it wrong.
    ---
Indeed, why didn't my mate just say that (Father instead of Word?
    ---
I asked John to rewrite John 1:1-14 to make it clearer and he responded with:
You must be joking. a trillion Bibles have been printed and would have to be reprinted.
    ---
And why Word can be referred to as this and that etc, just like the Holy Spirit, Advocate etc can be referred to.
    Indeed.
