You see the story goes a rugby team from the Islands or NZ came to Australia to play an aboriginal team, now they said they had a welcome to country type thing and asked if the aboriginals had one, it wasn't invented so Ernie Dingo and his friend started one-
ENTERTAINER Ernie Dingo and prominent Perth Aboriginal performer and writer Richard Walley have emerged as the modern-day creators of the controversial "welcome to country" ceremony, after visiting troupes of Pacific dancers forced their hand during a visit to Western Australia in the mid-1970s.
There were 300 plus different tribes, how could they have had one welcome to country and who knows which tribes had one if any....
