Did cadets , thoroughly enjoyed it .
Enjoyed being an nco.
However , there are much cheaper ways of delivering increased education and discipline than universal cadets.

Another factor that doesn't seem to have been taken into account, is that the numbers involved , ie all 18 year olds for a year of nashos , are huge.
Unless , of course you use it only as prison diversion , or for those that fail at school , or those that dont pay proper respect to their elders.
I suppose you would keep the numbers down by not including females , gays and maybe coloureds as well.
Be a select group , probably not one I would prioritize for weapons training , as mentioned before .
Of course the right would maybe see things differently. as they mlght see them as ideal recruits for the war on woke.
