abc four corners hatchet job

I just watched the ABC Four Corners hatchet job on the mining industry. How clever and subtle the ABC are, most unlike the Government who seem to have lost the plot.

ABC: Miners portrayed at fat cats; Palmer filmed in 60 acre gardens with his sponsored sports team, in his private jet with gold seat belt buckles, private wealth of $3.5B pointed out several times. ABC grabbed any of his contentious or candid comments and put in context to suit their obvious bias.

Lack of facts like the RIO audit on tax actually paid or the REAL benefits Australians have enjoyed as a result of the boom to date. Nothing about their 20 year bear market either. Noting about offshore competitiveness except to portray as - "we have heard this all before from the winging miners".

Disgraceful ABC shame on you - the industry has never faced anything like this before.

Nothing on the opportunity cost or the threat to Government earnings if miners de-list or spend their money offshore. Nothing on the real cost to superannuation for all Australians. Balanced debate or comment I don't think so - not even close.

I would love to see Rudd and Co face a severe drop in their earnings on a contract they were already locked into with their hard earned money. Take away their travel perks and special superannuation deal. Take away half of Rudds post PM annual entitlement and watch him try to protect his own interests.

Lots of comments 'against' the miners fight, which the Government started, and the only ones 'for' presented as "well we have seen it all before" from the greedy thieving mining industry.

Swan is a fools fool if he thinks this is the same as MARBO.

The ABC then trot out Hewson and Henry for additional comment - how is this hardly balanced. And the unions, how many of their jobs will go - these idiots might think about how their members will be affected rather than their political affiliations.

Bye bye Rudd and lets make the Swan dive a dim relic as fast as we can. I have tried to keep a balance but this has gone past reasonable and gone past sane. Now I fight with the miners for an Aussie fair go.

    Cheers,
    CW
