This is irrelevent to the issue. The issue is about taxing companies not idividuals.
The issue is about taxing companies and companies paying a extra premiun for the resources they use.
Today they pay 30% company tax and around 7 to 8% extra for the resources they use. That seems reasonable to me. Paying a extra 28% is certainly unreasonable.
What the Govt is trying to do is effectively industrial racism. They have singled out a sector of the community for no other reason that the Govt thought they had no other option other than to except the tax.
How about we raise personal taxes for individuals to 58% for all Jews, or maybe we should pick on Muslims, or Greeks, or Italians or some other minority group. I am sure a policy of this sort would not be acceptable so why is discrimation against miners OK
