This reminds me of a case I read about in America a year or 2 ago. A white female police officer had done a double shift and headed home to her appartment. She got off on the wrong floor, found "her" door not closed properly, entered and discovered an african american in the lounge or coming from the kitchen with a bowl of ice cream. She shot him dead, and is now in prison. It was his appartment. Similar for a number of reasons. Police using excessive force, fatigue could well be a factor, latest case was a night shift and 4am. I feel some sympathy for the offices in both cases, this is not a case of clear police brutality, it is a case seemingly of very poor judgement.
