She got off on the wrong floor, found "her" door not closed properly, entered and discovered an african american in the lounge or coming from the kitchen with a bowl of ice cream. She shot him dead, and is now in prison. It was his appartment. Similar for a number of reasons. Police using excessive force, fatigue could well be a factor, latest case was a night shift and 4am. I feel some sympathy for the offices in both cases, this is not a case of clear police brutality, it is a case seemingly of very poor judgement.

forget my comments on the length of shifts
there’re no night shifts apparently
“Cooma doesn’t have a 24-hour police station.
So when the nursing home called police about 4.15am Wednesday, asking for help to deal with a resident with a knife, the force had to call in off-duty officers.”
