Interesting that in the UK I believe that Betadine iodine gargle products are not allowed to be sold via chemists going back to probably 2008 ?
Exact reasoning I am unlcear on as always have regular supply from outside use and never use it on a prolonged basis. Have used it for 30 years when travelling for throatetc. I don't know what the personal import laws is today but 10 years ago it was clearly pointed out to me at the airport by a very up to date dilligent officer that it was not avaliable for sale in UK and carrying multiple packs singled me out after random scan - well probably no so random considering the original port of many people on that flight. . Businessman next in queue instantly said he had some as well. . Iodine also being a contrast agent for xray may be very obvious depending on machines used was my guess at the time?.
