If Grant had expressed his views away from the Coronation, there wouldn't be a problem. Disagreement for sure, but no offence - which is my point.
The villification is "reverse" villification. In one sense, the institution of the Crown (the antithesis of an oppressed minority) has been maligned unfairly in spite of who now wears it. It's a case of the 'sins of the father being visited upon the son'. Where can it be found, in the modern day policy and practices of the Realm, to continue with the oppression and injustices of the colonial past?
Nowhere.
When was the last time we heard of interference in local indigenous affairs by the Crown? Before my lifetime.
I don't see 'reconciliation'. I see blind hatred. I see revenge. Let go of it, Stanley.
