It is incredible how often posters on the HotCopper speculative threads (high-tech, biotech etc) are absolutely convinced they have a "darling product" and the only reason the company they hold is not making money is because of a useless sales team.

It almost never crosses these poster's mind that another possibility is perhaps the product is not quite as good as they think it is.

Given most of these posters across the speculative threads have no relevant technical background to make a sensible determination of how good a specific product is, it suggests the Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
