I think you'll find ken henry hasd already shown solid facts to support that the mining industry shed jobs during the GFC. They paint themselves as the great saviours of the economy but they slowed down just like everyone else and have been shown to pay less tax than other sections. Your argument is flawed, like much of the argument of the mining industry.
Twiggy and Gina would have us believe its in our best ineterst for the government to collect less tax? That the companies are going to abandon mining in Australia, more like there's going to be less new Ferrari's each year and less Dom at the dinner table for Twiggy and Gina.
The tax will effect mining company profits and the pockets of the bosses, the effect on Superannuation and general share price will be minimal if at all when teh dust settles.
