We shouldn't just dismiss the carers as useless and the coppers as mere thugs. ........ I don't know where you're getting this idea.... pretty much in your own imagination from the posts I've seen. only a couple are referring to coppers in such a manner.

this isn't personal y'know. its not anything to do with your old mum or mine. its about the safe management of elderly people and the apparently unjustified (mis)use of a taser on a defenceless old darlin' who thought their was an intruder (perhaps).

we've all seen repeated incidents where firearms and tasers have been used excessively, sometimes even as a first resort. resulting in deaths. obviously things have changed since I was receiving people with active psychosis brought in by police back in the '90s when police would use their intelligence instead of weapons.
