The children of gay couples -will- be ridiculed and picked on in school, no matter what the bleeding hearts say. While I do not agree this is right, it is simple fact. Children who are bullied at school can often develop psychological problems, even if its something as little as shattered confidence.
Gay couples generally are quite affectionate and loving and may give the child a good home, perhaps better than most hetero homes. I do think gay marriage should be legal, but adopting children is done for their own need to feel like a normal family, with seemingly little consideration for the child's well being outside the home (at school)
