You still have to hold for a month or more, otherwise it will be deemed as a wash sale. Can't remember the source but I've read it a few times, you can't get around it this easy. Best you can do is buy back a different company that is very similar.
Though I do wonder how CFD's tie in to all this, they consider CFDs somewhat distinct from trading, so if I sold down holding and repurchased as a CFD... I'm sure they'd frown on that, but I'd be interested to hear what their rationale was - considering CFDs can't be considered on your capital account.
