Have been killing a bit of time by looking around the good old web and I found some info which is a little curious. Would like to share with you all and if anyone can shed some light I would be delighted. This stuff is maybe coincidental?? Also if any of this has been posted before I apologise in advance. Weekend fun.
    So what did I find?

Well we all know that MHM have their new Aluminium processing company and they called it Alreco Pty Ltd.

We all know that this subsidiary of MHM is now doing work for Sim metals and Alcoa here in Australia and a huge possibility of global work too.

    Now fun stuff.

Before the 90s came along, there was a company in the US named Reynolds Metal Company.

    A Google search shows this:
Reynolds Metals Company (RMC) was the second largest aluminum company in the United States, and the third largest in the world. The company became well-known for the consumer product Reynolds Wrap as well as being a leader in developing and promoting new uses for aluminum. Headquartered for most of its existence in Richmond, Virginia, it was acquired by Alcoa in June 2000.

So it was bought out by Alcoa.

MHM now do some work for Alcoa.

    So what?

Well I was curious to find that Reynolds Metal Company had a subsidiary which was in charge of a secondary aluminium smelter.
Funny thing is that the name of that subsidiary was Alreco.

    Another Google search shows this:
On Monday, November 01, 1982, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for ALRECO.
This trademark is owned by Reynolds Metals Company, RICHMOND, VA 23230.
The ALRECO trademark is filed in the category of Metal Products.
The description provided to the USPTO for ALRECO is Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Ingot.
The USPTO has given the ALRECO trademark serial number of 73401357. The current federal status of this trademark filing is CANCELLED - SECTION 8 Date 11/13/2004.

Yes.the same name MHM has decided to call its own subsidiary.

Is there any reason that MHM would want to call there subsidiary the same as the old Reynolds Metals which was bought out by Alcoa?

Mind you the Alreco of Reynolds was meant to be bought out by Spectro Alloys Corp. in 1993 but something went wrong but I am not sure what happened.
All I know is that the trademark of Alreco was cancelled in 2004 as per above Google search.

It made me curious funny how the two names are identical, and the connections with Alcoa and Aluminium are now tied in with MHM.

Will this somehow make the transition into the US and Canada easier?

Apologies if this bored you. Just some fun stuff.
