Something I have found odd lately about Qantas is how quiet they have been in regards to successfully getting 10 A380s back in the air, after having them parked in the desert for an extended period.
It is highly unlike the Qantas PR department to ever miss turning an ant's fart worth of news into a hurricane of PR dribble that even causes the CCP equivalent to envy.
I would estimate the total cost of recovery to be around $200-$400 million for each aircraft, that is 2-4 billion dollars that I can't see reflected in any of their spending.
I assumed that either a state or the federal government had stepped up once again to aid our "national carrier" but I wasn't sure... I think this article answers my question.
Of course, this is speculation and I would be happy to be proven incorrect.
