Sovereign risk is still very much an issue when doing business in Africa. Perhaps not from default rates around finance, but more around corruption which undermines economic and social stability. The regional average score of 32 out of 100 on the Corruption Perceptions Index (https://www.transparency.org/en/news/cpi-2022-sub-saharan-africa-corruption-compounding-multiple-crises) is very very low, here in lies the risk.
