Agreed, they will have at worst bi-weekly updates from each store, retailer and distiributor on stock sold/ returned / doa etc etc - as you say normally sunday to sunday sales info given each Mondayto the manufacturer to decide marketing strategy for the week (s) ahead. If the units were really flying off the shelves, you would have thought another capital raise would have ready taken place, for the next round of manufacturing before now, and pre-orders already announced to the market on the basis of successful sales to date over the last 8 - 10 weeks. It just doesnt quite add up how it seems to being played out on the retail side.
