What the 'Colonial Powers' did to China and what Japan did to China are root causes for its military expansion, especially with the USA establishing military outposts throughput the entire world and still remaining the only country ever to deploy nuclear weapons.

It's apparent that Chinese leaders are following the response of the US/NATO to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, IMO they'll never allow China to militarily vulnerable again.
