I think all posters have got this right - and that is the word thuggery - voltaire was right although blunt. In Sydney today a major part of talk back radio focused on some issues in Sydneys West with NSW Rugby league - Cabramatta and Wentworthville - junior (14 to 17 year old) players assaulting Referees and all in brawls and the police being called (police were the only smart ones - took 45 minutes to arrive), spectator involvement in the punch ups was widespread.

The punishment from League judiciaries was apparently minimal - akin to condoning violence as acceptable.

Yep - Rugby League is no longer acceptable to me.
