Never pays to miss an ann deadline then say nothing about it.
It also never pays to put out a half arsed update telling you that for reasons that can't be disclosed that a timeline/ target/ expectation ( there are no deadlines or promises involved as you well know) has been extended, that solves nothing and just leads to another round of speculation ...
