Some in Sri Lanka or Afghanistan decided their opinion was the gospel and anyone who disagreed was a bigot, racist, or political enemy and drove these people out of town and now they arrive on our shores.

Where some people feel their opinion is gospel and they have every justifiable right to persecute a known individual and gather a lynch mob together on spurious evidence to try and silence their political views and bully them into compliance.

So my view is that if we are to allow asylum seekers into this nation then they MUST respect Australian's right to an opinion on the government policy on asylum because we believe in the basic human right of political freedom. Otherwise we are no better than the nations they flee.

I will be ashamed to be Australian the day we forget that.

Leonora has an Indigenous population so doubt she was racist else whe would not have worked as an ambulance ofice in a mixed race town. They are also angry according to some press reports about the money being spent on housing while Aboriginals in the town are left wanting. I finds no resentment toward the asylum seekers, all seems to aimed at government wasteful spending.
