unfortunately the world sees politics though the lens of left and right. the duopoly that ***ksup all democracies today, imo only.

the attacks on the Labs, just like the staunch defences of the Libs, colour the discussion and the ease of using left/right simplifies discussion. I would, like you, prefer that we ditch the left.right bS and focus on issues without regard for the sociopolitical divide.

this is the division that politics of the right has used to define themselves as differing from the left. they don't need to do this but this is the way of politics in this world, so far, as prescribed by Charles II.

but I do see the Labs as doing a pretty decent job so far. whereas the right this last 9 yrs did a terrible job. and fair enough to say the Labs are no longer "the Left" as their policies now have crossed from the normal definition of "Left" to centre-right.

but I'm no stooge for the Labs. they aren't above criticism and I've made several posts over the last year that identify their failings too.
