If the different audio beams could be personalised individually in the way described by the article I posted, it could be brilliant. That is to say the individuals could not only adjust volume but also whatever other characteristics suit their listening. I can't think of many appropriate words to describe such characteristics, but I could start with adjustment of tone, warmth, the individuals hearing spectrum and loudness per frequency band etc.
