    awright,

It's very clear and it's right in front of you...

The deep pocket interests in the US were happy to negotiate with the Taliban a few years ago in regards to their plans to run a gas pipeline through the country but the Taliban started to ask for too much so the US told them to bugger off. The Taliban then retaliated by banning opium production in Afganistan and the crop literally disappeared from the country in the space of about twelve or eighteen months. The trouble though is that Opium is a big earner for the CIA and they didn't take kindly to having their business shut down so the CIA went in and kicked the Taliban out in the space of a few months with the help of a few well placed bribes. Since then opium production has been reinstated and is now bigger and better than ever before... US soldiers are now even being used as farm labourers to help with production since there aren't enough Taliban around for them to shoot at these days.

The 'best' part of the whole deal is that taxpayers foot the bill for the military while the liars take the insane profits off the top... What a scam.
